chihuahuas when they mating its that right or not?

Two weeks ago, I got a very tiny little chihuahua. She weighs about 1 pound and she is just precious as can be. She should weigh 2 pounds when she is full grown. Does anyone have any tips on how to care for her? What food would be best for her?? Anything! I've bought her a couple sweaters to wear outside because she stays so cold all the time...and she doesn't seem to enjoy being outside - at all.

Thanks so much!

My chi always shakes and I have read that they have nervous conditions. I have also read pros and cons about sweatering chis before they go out because they are Mexican dogs. What is the real truth? I live on the coast of SC. Only cold here a few monts and summers can be sweltering.

The Chihuahua is a popular breed of dog these days, but sometimes people do not have enough time to look after them. This way, they end up in rescue centers, desperate for a loving home. If you are considering getting this kind of dog, then it is worth thinking about approaching a Chihuahua rescue center.

Checking local classifieds may mean that you get some information regarding Chihuahua rescue. It may have advertisements placed by the rescue center itself, inviting you to come and see their dogs ready for adoption. The chances of this being a weekly occurrence are quite slim though.

You could ask friends and neighbors if they know of any centers locally, but undoubtedly, one of the best ways to find out more information about (and the location of) Chihuahua rescue centers is to use the internet. As most people use it nowadays, the centers are taking advantage of this wider audience to re-home their animals.

Sometimes the rescue centers will place messages onto the pets section of community-based websites. These appear with a tempting or interesting title so that you click to read the whole message. As many people use this medium, the rescue center can get their message and relevant information across to people who may be looking to buy or adopt a Chihuahua or other dog. It may just result in you wanting to go to that rescue center first before buying from a private individual or breeder.

If you type "Chihuahua rescue" into any search engine you will find the information that you need quite quickly. Of course if you add in your local area to the search you will get more localized results. The search engine may bring up listings from a telephone directory for your area, which may then have a link to that specific center's own website. This is a sure-fire way to get all the information that you need about a certain rescue center. They usually have pictures of the Chihuahuas which are ready to find new homes too.

Once you have located the best Chihuahua rescue center for you, you can communicate via telephone, e-mail (if they have this facility), or just drop in to the center directly. There is usually a charge for adopting a Chihuahua from rescue centers. Considering this though, you are doing a worthwhile thing -plus the cost of buying a Chihuahua privately can be expensive!

Any dog breeder should be welcoming of any questions that you have to ask and should be able to answer them well for you. A good breeder will also ask you some questions to make sure that you are a suitable candidate for taking one of their pups. If you can, ask to see pictures of the puppies and their parents, inquire about the health of the dogs and whether they have been checked over by a veterinarian.

Once you have located tiny Teacup Chihuahua puppies for sale on the internet, you can communicate via e-mail, phone or message boards (if a community-based website) with the breeder or individual. If the person lives local to you, then you can arrange to view the puppies at a convenient time for both of you. You are now one step closer to having your beautiful puppy home!

I would like to rescue a Chihuahua. I am not interested in a puppy or back yard breeders. If you know of a reputable Chihuahua rescue organization or if you know of a Chihuahua that needs a good home, please let me know. Thank you.

I don't want anything too common or girly. He's black and different shades of brown, if that helps in any way. Actually, he's mixed between a chihuahua and a dachsund, but he looks like a purebred chihuahua. We haven't really come up with anything yet besides Rusty, Baxter, Rosco, Bo, and a few others that I can't remember at the moment. But anyway, all ideas welcome and appreciated.
