I adopted a little dog from a Rescue Shelter, and love him dearly! The people at the shelter said he was Chihuahua-Mix, maybe Pomeranian. But when I looked it up online, he looks JUST like a long haired chihuahua! I took him to the Vet for a checkup and asked them what breed they thought he was. They said, "Looks like long-haired Chihuahua to me!" and that you don't often find purebreds in a Shelter, plus he's 8 pds, a little bigger than the usual Chi. I'm not looking to breed him (he's neutered) but wouldn't mind showing him. My Dad shows his dogs, and I think it would be fun. What kind of Shows could I put him in if I don't have proof he's a purebred? (I love him just the same, so please no smart remarks!) Just curious!

ok so my mom wants a blonde/white long haired chihuahua but she wants to buy one from a breeder can anybody help me convince my mom to adopt or give me a site that has the kind of chihuahua she wants

you will have to find one near fort worth tx she does not want to drive more than 50 miles to get the dog

there is no consistency. for example:

there could be 2 guys, dressed the same, look the same, and he'll go sit by one and let them pet his but go crazy and growl and bark at the other. for no reason.

he'll let my girlfriends strange friends come in the house with no problem, but he barks and growls at my mom when she comes. My mom is a huge dog lover and has a couple of her own, and so does my girlfriends friends.

Instances like that confuse me.

I'm at a loss and I'm worried he might bite someone

BTW - he's a long haired chihuahua/dachsund mix. 1 year old.
